how do you keep from igniting yourself with the move at 1:08? I've tried rebounding with my leg twice, and both times ive had to put a fire out on my leg (i wear silk underneith my jeans which is naturally fire resistant, so im not totally unprotected) any tips would be nice :) totally love your video by the way, been spinning for a little over a year, and just transfered to fire poi about 2 months ago, not near as good as you though. mad props to you!!

I love this song, my Dad loves this song and he came from Patea. I remember learning this song at intermediate years and years ago. Scusa dnamir cm fai ad apprezzare la voce di Amy lee e nn quella di Giorgia?Amy Lee nn esplode,nn ha1minimo di tecnica e qnd canta si sente k è perennemente in sforzo.K Giorgia faccia un genere1po' piagnucoloso è vero,ma è ciò k piace agli italiani e lei è molto brava a vendersi bene. Ha una bellissima voce, ma che sta nei canoni... Sta nei canoni, cioè non è una voce particolare...

Beh non hai brutti gusti, vedo, però forse sei un pò chiuso su certi aspetti e non riesci ad apprezzare anche voci più leggere. Personalmente, preferisco anche io voci gravi e più calde, però quando una voce è bella, è bella. punto e stop. E credo che Giorgia abbia davvero una delle migliori voci tra le cantanti famose italiane. Poi ci sono anche le voci non famose, tra cui la magnifica Luisa Cottifogli, che a mio parere, aldilà del maggiore valore musicale, supera di gran lunga Giorgia.

Mi scuso comunque di aver fatto commenti su un video che non fa parte di quelli che guardo normalmente. Me lo sono trovato proposto in prima pagina e distrattamente l'ho cliccato. Ascolto soprattutto synphonic metal ( Dimmu Borgir ) e il sound di questo video è molto lontano dalle mie abitudini. Tarja ( ex Nightwish ) mi piace molto e anche le voci femminili di Epica After Forever Sirenia Eulvetie Within Temptation Evanescence..........

Beh credevo di avere fatto una "critica" oggettiva evidenziando quelli che per me sono punti deboli di questa voce. Non seguo molto la musica leggera ma se devo dire le prime voci italiane "eccellenti" sicuramente Mia Martini Bertè e Spagna. Ottima anche la Mannoia ma secondo me già un pò meno delle citate.

L'italia è piena di gente che fa buone, talvolta straordinarie carriere e non vale niente. Questa voce è assolutamente e totalmente senza sound, metallica sottile e talvolta anche scarsamente modulata. Con passaggi impastati e incontrollati. Il modo di cantare è piagnucoloso per sopperire alle carenze citate. Però non voglio offendere i gusti di nessuno. E' solo una mia opinione.

They're a new (not yet on the market) glow poi called HyperLights. The ones in the vid are prototypes in Bryl Cream tubs (no really!)... but when they go on sale they'll be in custom housings in a short tube shape which drops into a sock.

To make simple LED poi, you're right, you could make them for about £5 each ...but these are extremely bright and programmable. The mark up is nowhere near as much as you might imagine when you're only doing small batches (and that's all we can afford to do for now). For what they are, £150 is actually very cheap. You need to see them in person to really appreciate them though - the videos don't do them justice :-(

I'll leave it to the designer to comment in detail but all I can say is that there is a lot of cost in mass producing something- electronics are not the whole story. They'll cost what they cost due to production costs, not markup. I'm glad you like them- I personally can't wait to get my hands on some again :)

I know because my uncle does electronics and has researched it with us...and yet they're most likely going to get marked up for £150+. yea men you are rigth, i used to have a soft pois in order to dont hurt my self when i was starting, but now that i now how to move, i started to use heavy pois and they move easelyer, i can do incredibles orbitals, but when i take back my fire pois that are lower, its harder, and imposible to make it as smoth as whit my sock heavy pois, why woul be that?

It wasn't easy. I'm pretty good with poi but I've seen people who learn faster than me. I just practiced a lot, but that meant not doing many other things that I love, so just think of the time you spend doing other things you like, and you'll feel better about not spending more time doing poi. I had to give up other things to do so much poi.

I've been doing poi for a while and I do little fire poi here and there and I've been wanting to get down the spiral wrap, I've seen you do it with fire poi but I've just been nervous to do it because fire + skin = burn but doesn't seem like it bothers you, any tips? Also I can't do many moves I can only do 3 beat forward and reverse 5 beat forward butterfly corkscrew buzz saw and windmill, what would you recommend me to try to learn next?

Not exactly, Poi was the first to be created and glowstringing is a branch off it. The only difference in it would be that you can't grab a poi for a trick, glowstringing you can. There is no reason why someone can't use a sock poi or practice poi. I my self have a pair of practice poi, fire poi and glowsticks. So they all have a purpose. Practice poi well should be self explanatory by its self, glowstringing when I am in the dark, and fire poi when I'm feeling confident, so make a practice poi.
